Update on Events tomorrow (Friday) at St Paul's

Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to the Royal Dockyard Chapel in Pembroke Dock, Wales.

Tomorrow, St Paul's will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for people to come in, pray, light a candle, and leave a message in the book of condolence.

There will be a short service lasting about half an hour at 12, repeated at 6pm.

Our bells will be rung at 12.30- they will be muffled, giving a haunting, reduced and beautiful sound which evokes grief and sorrow.

The flag is currently at half-mast. It will be raised again from 11am to 1pm while the Proclamation of the new King is made in London, and then lowered again as a sign of mourning.

St Paul's will then open again from 8am on Saturday and the book of condolence will remain in Church until the day after the Queen's funeral.

May she rest in peace and rise with the saints in glory.

Majestic God, whose throne is in heaven, whose footstool is the earth:

we thank you for your servant Elizabeth, your faithful servant, our beloved Queen.

As we mourn her passing we give thanks for her witness of devoted service, unfailing wisdom,

compassionate generosity and faithful dedication,

and we pray that we may embrace her values and build your kingdom today and always. Amen.

Richard Lamey
