Groups and Teams

Some of the groups in the Parish

Mothers’ Union
Strong group organising many activities to support families and communities. We meet monthly.
Fellowship Groups
3 groups meeting for discussion, support and prayer.
Sip and Share
Monthly coffee and chat meeting on the second Saturday of the month
Walking Group
Meet twice a month to walk and share fellowship on different routes. Always ending with a coffee (if the weather is bad, we skip the walk and just have coffee!)
Coffee and Chat
Friday afternoon group offering a drink and cake and opportunity to meet and enjoy activities such as quizzes and jigsaws.
SPLOG
St Paul’s League of Gentlemen. Meeting on the last Friday of alternate months for mutual support, food and drink.
Tadpoles
For under-fives, providing friendship, play, craft and fun for children and their carers, offering a gentle Christian approach.
Women of Woosehill
Social group for all the ladies of the Woosehill church, meeting monthly for various activities
Pastoral Support Groups
providing clergy support for visits and home communions to people in the church community.
Tithings Groups
Friendship groups helping to bring people together for a range of activities.
J Club
Young people’s group, meeting during the 9:30 Sunday service twice a month for toddlers to early secondary school age.

Online group for young people in years 5 to 8. meeting every week during term time on Monday
The Meditation Group
was set up to practise Christian Meditation under the umbrella of the WCCM. They meet monthly in St Paul’s and are open to those of any faith or none.
Together in Prayer
A zoom prayer group meeting to pray for the church and local communities.
Bible Study Groups
meet on Tuesdays via Zoom, sharing what the bible means to them. They also meet in person a few times a year.
Thursday Groups
are social groups meeting on different Thursdays of the month. Different activities such as knitting, crocheting, jigsaws etc on different weeks.
Woosehill Prayer Chain
is a well  established confidential  prayer chain for prayers for parishioners, families and friends, and are able to react immediately to any issues within the Parish.

Some of the teams

Sacristy Teams
provide support for the churches, setting up everything ready for services.
Servers
at St Paul’s are a robed group that provide support during services.
Churchyard Team
is a group of volunteers that regularly maintain the churchyard. This includes the Community Payback team visiting every couple of weeks.
The Cleaning Teams
provide regular cleaning for the church, especially for festival services.
The Bellringers
regularly ring the bells at St Paul’s on a Sunday, and for special occasions and weddings.
Sidespeople
are an important part of the welcoming team and provide assistance to the congregations during services
The Social Committee
is a key element in the social side of the church community. They organise the many social events.
The Flower Teams
ensure the churches are beautifully decorated.
Spirituality Support Team
aims to arrange at least two Quiet Days (or longer) Retreats each year, as well as sharing information about similar events organised elsewhere
