#465: All things bright and beautiful

This Sunday

It’s a full Sunday, with 8am BCP kindly taken by Archdeacon Stephen Pullin, 9.30am at St Paul’s, 10am at Woosehill and 11am at St Nick’s. Plus Choral Evensong at 6.15pm at St Paul’s, where we will be continuing with our 5 Marks of Mission Sermon Series and welcoming back Fr Peter Day, who is a previous curate of the parish.

At the 9.30am at St Paul’s we are also doing our foodbank collection. We don’t do a food collection at harvest time, in order to spread out the amount of donations that the foodbank get. Instead, we do a collection in February, so if you are able please do bring along any donations which will be brought up during the service.

The current items they need include: Long Life Milk, Tinned Tomatoes, Cold Meat, Fish, Custard, Sweetcorn/Fruit, Cooking Sauces, Hotdogs, Rice Pudding, Coffee,Antibacterial Cleaning Spray, Washing up liquid, Conditioner, Female Deodorant, Tampons (NOT sanitary towels), Children’s Toothpaste, Baby Wipes, Size 5 nappies.

Christian Aid Coffee Morning

There will be coffee morning for Christian Aid on Saturday 10th May at which we will be running various stalls including a tombola, books, a raffle and plants.  We would be grateful if members of the congregation could put aside any items that might be useful for these stalls and, if you are a gardener, would sow a few extra seeds to supplement the plant stall.  Thank you.

World Day of Prayer

Last Friday was the World Day of Prayer, written by women in the Cook Islands. It was hosted at Corpus Christi and Teri has shared these photos from the morning.

Good Friday Messy Church

A children’s activity morning is being planned for Good Friday (18th April)  10am – 12 noon.  Last year’s event reached out to 36 children in 20 families.  I will be using the email addresses collected then to invite those families back and would look to attract new families by advertising the event in local schools.  Resources and plans are in place all I need now is a full compliment of adults/young people to man the activities.  Please let me know if you would be free to help .   Pauline Wells
