Goodbye to the cedar tree

The cedar tree has now been all but removed leaving just a large stump (as requested by the council). Parish Environmental Services managed to complete the work ahead of time, only needing to close the Reading Road for one day. After removing the lighter branches and foliage in the morning they then removed the larger branches and trunk in the afternoon.

We shall be planting a new tree to eventually replcae the cedar, but for the moment we can just enjoy the new unimpeded view of the north side of the church.
