Trip to Newport Cathedral

On Saturday a coach-full of us took a trip to Newport Cathedral in South Wales to celebrate Fr John Connell’s 30 year as an ordained priest. The choir had also been invited to sing at the special service. The service took place at 2pm with the St Paul’s choir joining the Cathedral choir and choirs from Rumney and Abergovenny (former parishes served by Fr John). The sermon was given by Bishop Rowan Williams. The Archbishop of Wales Most Revd Cherry Ven was also in attendance for the Eucharist presided over by Fr John.
