#325: what would you buy with a spare $43bn?

All caption competition entries gratefully received for the photo above…

Two key attachments/ announcements to start off with this week…

Here is the first (but not final) draft of the list of Evensong Sermons, which is focusing this year on the Book of Psalms. Evensong Sermons followed by refreshments are a popular and important part of the life of the parish and it is really exciting to be able to look forward to them again- do come along, and do tell your friends as well as other churches in the area…

We also need people to help with the refreshments so do please talk to Teri about that if you would like to help.

Secondly, the evening of Pizza and Games for everyone is going to happen on the 8th of May at 6.30pm in the Parish Rooms. This is meant to be an event where we can all welcome those who have started coming to Church more recently but it is also a great chance to catch up with old friends as well- do come along, and do bring friends. Bring games and some drinks and we will provide the pizza. Please can you let Louise Cole know that you are coming and whether you have any dietary restrictions so we can get enough pizzas and enough of the right types of pizza as well.

And in other news…

Thank you to those who came along to the APCM and AGM on Monday night- whether in person or on Zoom. Most of the vacancies were filled but we are still in need of a Churchwarden and two PCC Reps so do speak to Richard or Peter Wells if you would like to find out more about what it entails. And thank you to everyone who stood for election too. Thank you too to the people from Woosehill who did such an excellent job of providing the tech and the coffee.

I am wanting to start a regular Walking Group which will include and welcome those who have been bereaved in the last few years but will be open to everyone. If you would like to register an interest, or be involved in the planning, please could you let me know?

Don’t forget the Iona Evening Service this Sunday at Woosehill at 6.15pm- always a beautiful and relaxing service.

All Sts and St Paul’s are running a market stall near Brown Bag on Monday at the May Fayre– do say hello to us as you come past but don’t eat all of the free sweets…

Just a reminder that the Christian Aid Coffee Morning is on Saturday 21st May.  There will be stalls selling various items, so please collect your spare books, tombola prizes, plants and deliver them to Lynne Paine, Liz Gallagher and Jane Creasy respectively.  If you have any problems or queries, please let me know:  teri@theaustens.uk . We should also be grateful for any contributions of cakes on the day to sell with the coffee.  For all enquiries regarding this, please contact Alan Harrison.

And here is the prayer list for the Deanery for May 2022:

Cakebombing for Churches Together is happening this Saturday at Mulberry Grove- do go along and help if you can, or do ask about which type of cake to make…
