#474 Nothing coming down!
The work on the ceiling has been completed. The Church ceiling is no longer in danger of falling on anyone!
I awoke early in the morning in Monday to find the big red monster that had been crouching beside the South Door over the weeked, creeping to the back of church. I decided that safety was the best option, so I immediately made myself scarce. I will let Peter describe what happened next:
The vertical platform, was delivered on Friday and stored in church beside the South Door. On Saturday the Pay-Back team helped to loosen the pews so that after the service on Sunday some of them could be moved ready for Monday when the platform was moved into position at the back of church.
The team then spent the next 4 days inspecting the ceiling, inserting boards on sections where plaster had fallen off or looked as though it may fall off. They also dusted the area around the ceiling , down the top part of the walls and around the upper windows. The work was completed in time for the Ascension Day Service, although Nigel went in on Friday to finish the cleaning of the pews and working areas.
