#477: Summer summer summer!

Bertie here after a very sunny trip out to Greys Court, visiting my cousin. Did you know they give mice free cheese and biscuits there? And ice cream for pudding? Now I’m not saying I’m hard done by, but just a subtle hint that no one has brought me a medal or knapsack or cheddar for quite some time… I shall be brave and carry on….sniff….sob….
This Sunday – services and BBQ
Can you believe it’s July already?! Which means that our new rector starts next month! But before we get completely ahead of ourselves, this coming Sunday we have an 8am BCP at St Paul’s, 9.30am Parish Mass at St Paul’s, 10am at Woosehill and 11am at St Nick’s. Followed by the parish BBQ at 1pm, bring your own glasses and drinks, and probably something for Bertie just to keep him happy. And either suncream or an umbrella, maybe both.
Clive Jones MP: A Year in Parliament, tomorrow (3rd)
Clive Jones, our local MP, will be returning to All Saints Church in Wokingham on Thursday, July 3 at 7.30pm to be interviewed about his first year in Parliament. You may recall we interviewed Clive last December as part of a ‘get to know you’ session. This time the focus will be very much on the politics – so it may get a bit feisty! Any questions, just contact me directly at peter.barrett500@gmail.com. I hope you can make it. Peter Barrett, All Saints Church, Wokingham.

Hear the Nicene Creed in Old English
The Church marks the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, a cornerstone of Christian belief since AD 325, and shared a video on social media of the creed in Old English. It has been watched more times than any other post, and is well worth a listen, especially when your ears catch familiar words.
