New Rector!

We are able to announce that we have appointed a new Rector for the Parish of St Paul’s – Father Sam Korn:

“To everyone at St Paul’s, St Nicholas’s, Woosehill, and the wider Wokingham community,

I am delighted to be your new Rector and excited to join you in August. I look forward to the work and ministry ahead and, most of all, to getting to know you. In the meantime, here’s a little about me.

I grew up mainly in South Wales and came to faith as a teenager in a church much like St Paul’s. I studied theology in Cambridge and at the World Council of Churches study centre in Geneva before being ordained in St Albans in 2014. My ministry began as a curate in Barnet, North London, followed by serving as vicar in Aintree, on the edge of Liverpool. For the past six years, I’ve had two roles: chaplain at a large comprehensive school in Islington and Assistant Priest at St Mary’s, Bourne Street, in Westminster. I have a particular interest in working with children and young people, as well as in worship and thoughtful preaching. Outside church life, I enjoy cooking, country walks, going to the theatre and opera, and watching cricket.

In August, shortly before I arrive in Wokingham, I will be getting married – so there is a lot to be excited about this summer!

I look forward to meeting you all and beginning this new chapter together.

With best wishes,

Father Sam”

Father Sam will be installed and Inducted on Thursday 28th August.
