Plaster falls from ceiling!

A small section of the ceiling in the nave became loose and fell onto the pews in the centre of the church on Thursday night. When Mary opened the church on Friday morning she found fragments of plaster on and around two of the pews. To avoid anyone being injured we have taped off the pews under the area that fell away to stop anyone sitting beneath it should any more plaster become loose. We have inspected the ceiling around the site and although there are a fe small cracks that have been there for quite some time, there is no indication that any more plaster is likely to fall.

We shall be asking our architect for his opinion and looking for a good plasterer, but in the meantime please refrain from sitting on the taped off pews.
